Richard Powell, MD, FACEP was born and raised in Long Island, NY. He received his bachelors of Science degree from Cornell University and is a graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed a one-year internship in internal medicine at Winthrop University Hospital followed by a three year Emergency Medicine residency at Long Island Jewish where he served as chief resident during his last year of training. Dr. Powell is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He has been practicing emergency medicine for the past 16 years, the first several of which were in New York before moving to southeast Florida. During this period he also successfully pursued an MBA degree and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies for this postgraduate work.
