Diagnosis: Crown hair loss.

Not all hair loss is in the hairline or top of the scalp. Many balding patterns include the back of the head or the very top back of the head-both known as the crown. We believe the term “crown” is used as this is the area where a king would wear his crown. One thing is for sure, you don’t feel like a king when you are missing an obvious area of hair as was the case for this patient. As you can see in the photos the front and top of this man’s head is excellent. It’s only until you get to the back of the head that an obvious and wide “arc” of hair is missing. We dense packed 1,800 grafts into the crown in a single visit being careful to follow the natural alignment of his original hairs. Implanting in the right pattern is key to rebuilding crowns. His after photos were taken 18 months after his procedure. He may or may not lose more hair in the future.
