Diagnosis: 4,500 Graft FUT on Norwood Class VI Patient
This patient is a gentleman in his 50’s who presented with Norwood Class VI hair loss. The patient requested a conservative hairline in an attempt to get as much coverage on the top as possible. Based on his favorable hair characteristics – gray, thick, and “wiry” – we believed density could be lowered slightly to accommodate greater coverage. We utilized an “AMAP” or “as much as possible” FUT harvesting technique and safely removed 4,500 grafts in one sitting. We used these grafts to cover as much scalp as possible working from “front” to “back.” We were able to rebuild the entire frontal scalp, mid-scalp, and a good portion of the crown. The patient returned 2 years later, very pleased with his transformation – as were we.
