Dr. Boucher, New York Hair Transplant Specialist

Director of Surgery and Managing Partner- Feller and Boucher Medical, PC and affiliates.

Background

Dr. Boucher’s interest in hair restoration began while he was still a pre-medical student. After helping his grandmother seek treatment for hair loss related to chemotherapy, he became fascinated with hair loss and hair restoration. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) shortly after and entered medical school with the intent of becoming a leading hair loss specialist.

Experience

Before beginning medical school, he began working as a forum co-moderator, editorial assistant, and author for several leading Hair Transplant communities including hairtransplantweb.com and it’s chat forum These websites serve as some of the most popular educational resources for hair loss sufferers seeking help and advice Online. This position allowed Dr Boucher to write articles and editorials, assist thousands of hair loss patients, and work with some of the world’s best hair transplant surgeons. One of these hair restoration specialists was Dr Alan Feller, who encouraged Dr Boucher to pursue his goal of becoming a hair loss specialist.

He graduated medical school from Andrew Taylor Still University with Sigma, Sigma, Phi honors, and completed his postgraduate training at Geisinger Medical Center (formerly Penn State Geisinger, and now the training hospital for the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine). He was then invited to complete a preceptorship-based fellowship in hair transplant surgery with Dr Alan Feller at Feller Medical, PC in Great Neck, New York. After discovering how well they worked together, Dr Feller and Dr Boucher decided to become partners in a new practice: Feller & Boucher  Hair Transplantation, PC.

Hair Restoration Methods

Dr. Boucher performs state-of-the-art FUT (strip), FUE, and mFUE surgery from Feller & Boucher Hair Transplantation’s Great Neck, NY office. He utilizes these techniques in a variety of hair transplant cases, ranging from densely packed “mega sessions” to complicated repairs. Alongside Dr Alan Feller and Dr William Lindsey, he helped develop the modified FUE (“mFUE”) technique. Dr Boucher uses only manual tools and exclusive, in-house technicians for all of his procedures.

When not performing hair transplant procedures, Dr Boucher enjoys writing, playing musical instruments, watching movies, and researching future hair loss therapies.

Dr. Boucher is married and lives with his wife, a board certified pediatrician, in Long Island, NY.

Dr. Shane Boucher is an experienced Hair Transplant surgeon and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas Health Science Center with sigma, sigma phi honors, and completed his training/residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

After noticing his own hair loss, Dr. Boucher became a hair transplant patient himself- ultimately receiving two FUT procedures at the Feller and Boucher clinic in New York. Curious about the procedure, Dr. Boucher visited the clinic several times to observe surgery and then ultimately applied for and was accepted for a preceptor based fellowship.

Dr. Boucher performs FUT, megasession FUT, dense pack repairs, and FUE procedures. He uses top of the line customized blades that are cut in-office to match the unique size of each patient’s hair grafts to make all recipient sites. This is a level of customization few hair transplant physicians can match. Dr Boucher only uses manual tools and exclusive in-house technicians for all procedures
