Dr Feller and his team pride themselves on making the whole hair transplant journey as pain free and as comfortable as possible.  It is a major decision to undertake and naturally there will be some level of anxiety, and worry which is only natural for any medical procedure.  Below you can read excerpts from many satisfied patients who have documented their experience with Dr Feller.  We encourage you to read these experiences for yourself so you can get an idea of what a hair transplant is actually like and also the way Dr Feller and his staff treat each and every patient.

These excerpts are taken from the hair restoration network forum, where many patients spend a great deal of time researching hair loss and hair transplantation and then making an informed evidence based decision on which Doctor and clinic to go with.  The full account of each individual can be accessed by clicking the link which will take you to the original post inside the forum

Dr Feller - 2nd HT hairline & mid scalp tweak - 1/9/2012

I am 11 days post of of my 2nd HT with Dr Feller. Just to fill you guy sin I had 2250 strip last august which did a great job in hiding any kind of hair loss to where I was before.

I was so pleased with DR Feller did with me last time round I had no hesitation in going back in again to see what he can pull of this time round.

So my main goal was to drop the hairline by a good 1-1.25 cms and in particular address the centre of the hairline which had a lot of loss.

During the consult per op Dr Feller said he really was worried about my mid scalp forelock area, which i really wasn’t to bothered about until he dug up the before pics from last August and showed me just hwo much density had been lost, I was getting away with it but in a centre parting it looked less dense and more sparse than the rest of the hair, so slightly reluctantly i did go with his advixce and agreed to addressing the mid scalp……..#

A few of the old boys will remember a great poster back in the early days called ” Riley” who mainly posted on another forum – An old post from Riley in 2006 :

To the Brotherhood

I finally did it. I just got back from my procedure w Dr. feller and his staff and it was top shelf all the way. Those who have corresponded w me and met me over the last couple of years know I was very “thorough” in my research. Others might describe it as neurotic. I saw about 2 dozen patients from 4 different doctors and have spent 3 years researching on this board and several others. Well all that research and compulsive behavior paid off in spades yesterday. The techs at Dr. Feller’s office were wonderful and nobody has better bedside manor than Dr. Feller himself. He went above and beyond the call of duty and its indicative of the type of person and phsician he is…. read more

UK Feller patient - 11/14/2011.

Justjulien’s Hair Loss Story

The day of the surgery arrived and I met Dr Feller at his offices around 7.30 am and we talked through what I wanted from the surgery and how he envisaged the day would go. Turns out it’s a whole process, so you may need 1, 2 or 3 surgeries depending on your goals, before you achieve your desired result. I have thinning through the front of my hairline and in the crown area, and almost a Mohawk of hair on top. We discussed the options and Dr Feller and the aim of stage 1 was to rebuild my frontal hairline area with around 2500 grafts in a cap like shape and he suggested returning for a second procedure to address the thinning crown once I had seen the results of the 1st procedure.  Click here for the full account

Hello all, been a big reader of the forum for over 12 months and decided to join in light of my decision to finally proceed with the FUE master.
Dr Feller and his ability with FUE has had me interested in hair restoration for sometime. I have been reading forums and researching FUE in particular and had consultations with several clinics and based on all my reading and research decided on the one and only Dr Feller. I have met 3 FUE patients of Dr Fellers here in the UK thanks to Spex and their hair was remarkable. I am fortunate that its only my hairline that has been subject to a slight recession and the rest of my hair is still in tact at the age of 39. I am very excited indeed to have Dr Feller do my surgery as many know he is the master…. read more

6 Month Joy 2250 strip - Dr Feller - 2/10/2011.

I have felt compelled to share my own Hair transplant story:

I knew I had to go abroad as the UK seemed devoid of consistent and open results I wanted to be 100% sure and make my own informed choice, so I managed also to see 3 UK patients through Spex and that helped massively in making the choice.

Well to let you know I basically short listed about 3 clinics and eventually went for Feller medical in August 2010 Its now almost exactly 6 months since my hair transplant and I was stunned at how far I had come in just those short months, so much so that I think it is important for me to share just how much better I feel and how my hair is constantly changing for the better. I ended up having a strip surgery done by Doctor Feller for 2250 grafts. It was a great experience I did brick it several times before hand about the decision to go ahead mainly about having a scar at the back of my head but I stayed strong and went for it….. Positive experience with Dr Feller (3500) - 10/31/2010.

Just over two weeks ago I went to NY to have a hair transplant with Dr Alan Feller. If I remember correctly it was around 3500 grafts. I have to say my experience was extremely positive. The moment I stepped through the door, I was made to feel very welcome. Dr Feller is a really nice guy with a great sense of humour.

First of all he drew in where he felt my new hair line should be and checked with me to see what I thought of it. I felt it was a little too high so he was able to lower it slightly. Once we were satisfied with that I went into another room and he injected anaesthetic in two lines around the back of my head to numb the area where the hair was to be removed from. It was a bit painful but certainly nothing unbearable.

After that the rest of my time was spent sat in a chair while Dr Feller and the rest of his team went to work. He had 10 staff working for him and all of them were very professional and friendly. Having the strip removed from the back of my head really didn’t hurt at all. I just sat there listening to the radio while they worked. After that Dr Feller prepared the top of my scalp to receive the hair and then his team went to work with replanting all of those hair follicles. Having a large team of 10 staff allowed them to work in rotations. On a few occasions the anaesthetic would begin to wear off and I would feel a slight bit of pain so I just informed them when this happened and they injected me with some more.

The operation in its entirety took about 7 hours. That might sound like a long time but really it just flies by. Throughout that time they took good care of me and checked that I wasn’t too thirsty. The pain was kept to an absolute minimum. In fact the worst bit was probably when he gave me the injections at the beginning

2nd HT with Dr Feller - hairline BULK up

Former regular poster at SHN – just been recommended this forum and would like to share my recent experiences.

I think those afflicted with VERY fine natural hair will be interested in this…

I’ve just returned from having a second strip session on my hairline with Dr Feller in New York, which was yet again a great experience and am very excited by what it will hopefully achieve.

As anyone who knows me (met me at any of the showcases Spex organised), my hair is about as naturally fine and straight as hair can possibly get. It’s been the bane of my life and I use LOADS of product to give it a ‘normal’ appearance (if you can call 2pints of hairspray being normal!). This procedure was 1,100 grafts ‘bulk up’ of an op I had 3 years ago, where Dr Feller transplanted 2,167 grafts into the hairline. I’ve kept this follow-up relatively quiet for simple reason that some people might misinterpret it as a result of my original HT not being successful, which is NOT the case at all!!!! far from it!….. read more

After 1500 grafts with Dr Feller - absolutely amazing experience - 7/12/2010.

After 1500 grafts with Dr. Feller, “hairlossguy222″ his “absolutely amazing” experience

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to quickly write about my procedure I had with Dr. Feller on 9/30/10:

The whole experience from start to finish was absolutely amazing. I can’t say enough about how great Dr. Feller was. He is the total package – professional, meticulous, great bedside manner, and a pretty funny guy. (The list goes on, but I’ll spare you all)

Throughout the procedure, Dr. Feller informed me of everything that was going on. This was something I was not used to, as my first procedure done by MHR didn’t have any of this communication. Dr. Feller even showed me the recipient site prior to inserting the grafts so that I could see how many slits there were….man…what beautiful work. He even put a smile on my face when he told me that this procedure would be nothing like the one I had with MHR  (THANK GOD!!)

Before I knew it the procedure was done and I was in the other room devouring some lunch that Dr. Feller’s staff ordered for me. Once that was finished, I spoke with the good Doc and headed on my way back to the hotel. Dr. Feller even gave me his cell phone to give him a call if I had any problems. Now that just speaks to Dr. Feller’s character. It really is a great feeling to know that I have one of the good guys in my corner and that he will be there for me if/when I need him.  Click here for full account

Thanks so much to Dr. Feller and his staff!!

3500 grafts with Dr Feller May 2010 - Great Experience! - 7/12/2010.

3500+ with Dr. Feller, may 2010. Great experience!

When I came to Feller medical and met Doc. he was very kind and pleasant. He explained me my situation and proposed plan of HT which I accepted because it was in keeping with my expectation. I have done 3500+. It was not too much comfortable to sit in chair from 9 am to 4 pm but it is worth at the end. I have to point out one of technicians named Anna, she was so nice. After the end of session I was exhausted because I hadn’t eat since morning and I went at apartment and I was sick  I had fewer but I took painkiller and slept few hours and after that I was ok. Impressive update after 3535 grafts with Dr Feller - 3/07/2010.

This is my first post on any hair loss forum, and I hope that my experiences will be of use to someone. I’ve certainly gained from the advice given in many posts on different forums.

I’m in my early 40s, my hair loss started a long time ago. Last year I finally decided to do something about it, researched, met with Spex up in Nottingham and started on the meds (generic finasteride). I’d decided that the HT route was for me, my donor area is pretty good and that was always part of my problem: thick at the sides and back and growing sparser at the front especially. My hair loss was becoming more and more obvious and any mention of hair loss, in any context and I would change the conversation. I dreaded anyone mentioning it.

Luckily I am a teacher so I could make an appointment for a HT with Dr. Feller for the start of my summer holidays. It will give me 4 weeks recovery time and I hope it will be enough. I had 3535 grafts in the frontal area (I’ll post the photos when I get them).

As for the meds, by the 5th month they had some effect on the crown and sides, but seemed to have thinned out the front. However, I got some very bad side ??“ effects (bad pain in the ‘nether’ regions!) and I had to give them up for two weeks. I’ve tried to start them again, this time on half ??“ dose. I’ll see how they go.

As for the HT, I arrived in NY on the Saturday, and my HT was on the Tuesday. The few days in NY were great and the journey to Great Neck easy ??“ Penn Station, the Long Island expressway and then the Andrew hotel. The hotel was expensive but really good; the staff left me alone, the room was comfortable and they even let me check out at 3pm on my final day, before I took a taxi back to JFK ($50).

I walked to Dr. Feller’s surgery the day before the surgery and it’s only 15 minutes from the hotel. It’s easy to get a map from google maps. It was very warm, but the walk the next morning was a lot less stressful than waiting around for another cab. I arrived at 7.30am, very nervous, but Dr. Feller was friendly and put me at my ease. He drew a new hairline on my scalp, we chatted and then I had the donor site anaesthetised and although his assistant Anna warned me that this was the worst point it really wasn’t very painful. The day went quickly and I just sat back and listened to his technicians chat whilst they put in the grafts. I was very keen to get involved in their conversations but didn’t feel in the best position to do so! I think it was all finished about 3.30pm (I was a little shell shocked by then) and Dr Feller took some photos. I was quite excited with my new hairline, although I looked a terrible state, but by this time all I wanted to do was get back to the hotel and hide.

The flight back was good (Virgin Atlantic) although like many other UK patients I was worried about the JFK airport security. No big deal, I was through the security before I knew it and although the security guard (a woman) gave my scalp a funny look I just walked on and didn’t look back. UK passport control didn’t ask me to take off the baseball cap.

Now I’m home and it’s exactly two weeks on. The worst part of the whole experience is my haircut at the moment ??“ shaved down on top (and growing back very slowly), and thick at the sides. The staples came out on Friday and although a little painful (take a few paracetemols first) it was a great relief. I cut my own hair with clippers for the first time the day after: not a great result but it looks and feels a lot better. Putting aloe vera on the recipient area has really helped and I’m taking MSM to speed up the growth on top and hide what I’ve done. I now have another 2 weeks for the hair to equal out a bit and then hope I can cut it short enough without the donor scar and ‘shelf’ in the back of my head showing. No-one apart from those reading this post (and Dr.Feller and Spex) knows about the HT. I’ll see how secret I can keep it: I prefer it that way. Luckily (!) I live alone so I’ve been able to lock myself away a bit.

The care given to me by Dr Feller and his staff was excellent and I would definitely do the same again. Thanks to all the posters on the various forums for your advice. Thanks also to Spex for his initial advice. I hope that this information is useful to those considering a transplant: if anyone wants to know anything else just ask.

Hair doyle story......01/09/2010

The morning of the operation I was a little nervous and took xanax (I checked with the doc )

Once I got there only Dr Alan was there and I waited in the waiting room and watched as each memember of staff arrivd and they all seemed really friendly and all had good working relationship.I was called into Dr Feller office and he put me at ease straight away,we went throught everything and he agree the hairline had receded and he said 1500 should do it(he ended doing 2000 at no extra cost) I was brought into have the doner area numbed and the injection were nothing more than a slight sting but nothing like some people have described here. once this was numb the doner area was taken, you imagine what they are doing but really no pain and then he joined the area up with staples then we went onto the hailine and this was numbed,, again a sting but thats it..this is were he get serious,no talking as he put the holes were the hair will go..this takes a couple of hr all while…..read more

Dr Feller 3,300 fut february 2010

Fast forward to February 2010 and after 12 months of surfing the web and various online consultations l opted to go for my first FUT with my chosen surgeon Dr Alan Feller. At this point l would also like to mention my man Spex who has been both supportive, available and consistant throughout the whole process with NO sales pressure in any shape or form right from the word go, unlike some of the other uk consultants l spoke with.

Having completed an online consultation with Dr Feller, l was advised that l would be looking at around 3,000 grafts to fill in my hairline and crown….so without hesitation l flew out to New York for the Doc to do his thing

The whole experience has been fantastic to be quite frank….Dr Feller and his excellent team of technicians transplanted 3,300 grafts to my frontal hairline and crown. Although with me having fine hair the Doc had to work a small miracle to successfully fill in my crown as well…… Read More

Petchskys procedure Dr Feller 2009

I flew across the pond to see Dr Feller, a journey seemingly trod by many an Englishman. We don’t have any H/T docs of his
calibre, so he has been adopted by our people

When i showed up on Monday morning i had not yet had a chance to go over the finer details of what i want. In my head  I’d assumed that he would work on zone 1 and rebuild my hairline, but by the end of the day Dr Feller and his team had 1800 grafts, which enabled him to go right back in to…….. read more

Touch up FUE session with Dr Feller with Dr. Feller- 09/18/2009.

It’s friday and I’m relaxing in the Andrew hotel in Great Neck, the day after a touch up FUE session with Dr Feller. Recovery has been a breeze as usual and I have already ventured out to Manhattan and been refused beer ! At 35 I did of course take this as a compliment but now I’m concerned that in 6 months time when my hairline grows in, I’ll never get served ;-)

Anyway, back to business……….yesterday I had 487 sexy single hair grafts placed to add density along my hairline and lower my right temple slightly.

This was my 7th FUE session. 3 have been with Dr Feller and I wish I’d found him sooner !

For those of you who don’t know me, I began naively in 2001 with Dr Jones in Canada with hairline and temporal restoration of 600 grafts. Unfortunately, the result was poorly angled, vertical standing grafts and next to hopeless density.

Dr Jones second effort wasn’t much better so since then it’s been a battle to repair or at least refine the work that he had done.

Dr Wood’s in Australia had a bash and to be fair he and his sister did a pretty good job, especially compared to Jones. The yield was excellent on the whole but there were still gaps and the hairline was pluggy, despite the density, partly down to my dark coarse donor hair I now realise.

Then another doctor (I did get around in those days!), managed to place some nice fine, naturally angled hairs but not many grew and the FUE holes in my donor took far too long to heal compared to the norm. I didn’t like that at all and I’m sure he caused more scarring than was necessary. He also stopped working on me half way through and his trainee at the time, Dr Mwamba took over. I wasn’t over the moon about that one either.

So that brought me to Dr Feller. I had read about Dr Feller and his dense pack which I though would be ideal to fill in the gaps. I flew to NYC and Dr Feller targeted the left temple with 200 grafts during a “luchtime” FUE session. My plan was to concentrate on planting in the stronger left temple as I parted my hair that side and I wasn’t confident enough to risk more donor on both sides. If I’m honest, I didn’t hold out much hope based on past experience but 8-10 months later the results were very impressive and the gaps filled.

Now that my faith had been restored in HT‘s, my confidence grew, so I had Dr Feller feather a few grafts along the very edge of the hairline which he managed with very natural results. The hairline continued to soften and 2 years later the result is pretty much perfect. That now brings us up to yesterday and my 7th session.

A consequence of my tactic to concentrate on the left side of my hairline obviously led to a lower hairline on this side. It didn’t really matter as I parted my hair on the left and covered the right with longer hair. But my experience with Dr Feller showed me what can be achieved, so I decide to sit in the chair again and have him place 400 single hair grafts to lower the right side of my hairline and balance my hairline out.

The right side of my hairline is made up of a cowlick which lies very acutely to the skin. Dr Feller placed the grafts at this acute angle, copying the natural direction. This will result in great coverage as the hairs will lie on-top of each other. He also added a little density in the centre of my hairline and my “hair greed” meant we utilised the left over grafts in the left temple again.

Final count and 487 singles resulted from the FUE extractions. Very please with this result and while I wouldn’t say it was an enjoyable day out, (it was surgery after all), it’s the best I could have hoped for. Thank you Dr Feller, Anna, Marcia and the team……… again!!

I don’t have any photos with me in the hotel but I’ll get some up soon. Until then I’m happy to answer any questions/ comments as there’s nothing on HBO !

Shanti

P.S Thanks also to Spex for his ongoing advice and support. Cheers buddy.

Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the results of both procedures! I would eagerly recommend Dr. Feller and his team to anyone, inside or outside the United States… read more

Acrobaz's HT Journey with Dr. Feller- 02/21/2009.
I am from the UK and fast approaching 40. I have been reading the threads on this forum for a long time, and became a forum member only recently. I would like to say (to all of you) that your thread conversations have helped me (and I suspect many others) enormously. I would particularly like to single out Bill, Thanatopsis, Eman and Spex for such honest posts. It really does help keep people like me informed. My HT journey began, like so many others, in the distant past. I began to recede noticeably at my temples in my late 20s and more obviously so by my mid-30s. By my late 30s, I had progressed to the situation where I had an ‘island’ of hair at the front of my head and a veritable ocean of scalp around it. For the Brits reading this, think Alan Shearer (although it looked far better on him than me). I realised it had become a defining feature of my physical appearance: if I had not seen a friend for a while, I noticed their eyes drift upwards to the top of my head (and I knew what they were thinking); it occasionally became the means by which my children distinguished me from the parents of their friends (i.e. I was the ‘bald one’). I had known it was coming. There has been male pattern baldness on both sides of my family, always receding from the temples. I joked about it at first, because I had been absolutely convinced I would be fine when it happened ??“ after all, it was hardly going to take me by surprise. However, when at last it had reached the point where I was balder than I was hairier, I was surprised with the big change to my appearance and with how it made me feel. If you’re reading this, you’ve probably experienced something similar. My response was to tend to avoid being photographed and, if I was photographed, I would wince at what I saw ??“ the gleam of scalp. So, I tried option 1: the buzzcut, starting at #4 and then gradually down to #1. It didn’t suit me. I have a large head and, unless I’m going through one of my rare super-slim phases, I also have a round head. A real full moon job. I know that the buzzcut is a look that really suits some men (and good for them too), but it didn’t suit me. If it had suited me, if I’d have had compliments on how it looked, I’d have kept with it. But my wife and my kids didn’t like it and my colleagues teased me. I took all the teasing in good part, but obviously would have preferred to look better.Next, I tried option 2: the meds. In my case, this was something I bought in Boots (the name of which I can no longer remember) for about six months, then Regaine (minoxidil) for about 18 months. I can’t honestly say one way or another whether it made any difference. It might have slowed the rate of shedding, but I had nothing to compare it to. (I only started taking Propecia recently.)Eventually, I began to research HT procedures. My advice to anyone thinking of doing the same is to take your time and do your research. Then do some more research. Do not rush into anything. If you can afford it, be prepared to travel.I first had a consultation with a clinic that is based in Cyprus, although I didn’t realise that until I went along to the meeting in London. I met a charming bloke (who had received an HT himself recently). He was not medically qualified, but he knew what he was talking about and he did an initial assessment of me. In the follow-up feedback, he recommended 2,700 to 3,000 FUs by Strip. I am indebted to him for his honesty: I asked him where he would go if money were no object, and he said ‘the US or Canada’. I have not named the clinic because I would not want to get him into trouble for his candour, but would be happy to tell anyone via a P.M. if they wished. I think it is a perfectly solid clinic.I then left it for a while because, frankly, I didn’t at that stage want to travel abroad to Cyprus, the US or anywhere else for that matter. So I began to look at UK options, and then had a meeting with a representative for the Hospital Group. At this point, I did not realise the poor reputation it had on this forum. The representative was nice enough, although he understood little about hair loss because, frankly, he himself was the nearest I’ve even seen to a lycanthrope.  I was put under some pressure (although eminently resistible) to pay a ??500 deposit there and then. He said he thought the recommendation of 2,700+ FUs by the Cyprus clinic was ‘nonsense’ (he asked ‘are they trying to make you look like me’?) and thought 1,000 would be enough. He said that I could always go back for more and that I could have upwards of 5 or 6 strips until I was satisfied. He sketched some in-fill on a picture in front of him (‘a bit here, a bit there’) and then showed me some pictures of celebrities they’d apparently done: Quentin Wilson from Top Gear and Francis Rossi from Status Quo.  Not exactly poster boys of cool, but there you go. It would be fair to say that I was chased afterwards to commit, but did not.I am not in a position to criticise the Hospital Group, as I had no further dealings with them. What put me off was the way in which their representative criticised a competitor. It dawned on me that these guys were in competition for my hard earned dough. I pulled away for a while.Eventually, I discovered this forum, and it made all the difference.  This may sound pompous, but I mean it: this forum is like a pure democracy, a Greek city state. Everyone can speak and everyone has a voice. Reputations are built or destroyed by consensus. Results are posted and clearly show the advantages and disadvantages of surgery. From my perspective, it was just what I needed: a place where the salesmen played little part (or were clearly labelled as such) and where the real input came from those who’d had it done. And, of course, I loved the idea that Doctors themselves participated on the forum and were willing to be publicly tested by their results. Who needs shiny brochures when you have this forum? After a while, I made the decision to contact Spex privately. This was because, in my research, the name of Dr Feller had come up again and again. I liked his posts: realistic, opinionated, passionate and evidence-based. His demolition of laser-combs elsewhere on this forum deserves to be read by anyone who forgets that this is a science, meaning that all developments need to be empirical and peer-reviewed. So I decided: he was the Doc for me. For those of you who are still researching, all I can say is that I researched HTs for two years (I am nothing if not methodical) and chose Dr Feller. There are many good surgeons recommended on this site, but probably five to ten that are truly world-class, and Dr Feller is one of them.Unlike some, I have not met Spex, although we have communicated by email and by phone. He has dealt with me very professionally: he didn’t push any sale, left me to make up my own mind, and sent me links to a great deal of impartial information. It was a light touch, and it was much appreciated. He recognised that what I needed was material from which I could make an informed decision. He couldn’t have been more different to the Hospital Group guy.I had my procedure at the Feller Clinic on 17 February 2009. I shall post the photos as soon as I have them. I had 3,200 FUs. The day itself was almost pleasurable. Dr Feller has a good way with people and put me at my ease. I put my trust in him completely. We had a nice chat at the start and at the end of the day. The technicians were a nice bunch, particularly Anne, and they kept me supplied with orange juice and water. He was reassuring at several points during the day. He’s been though it himself, and that gives him a lot of additional credibility. Before photos:For those thinking of doing it, I wouldn’t describe it as painful. The injections to numb the donor and recipient areas are fairly unpleasant but, after that, you don’t feel a thing, honestly. Having my wisdom teeth removed was worse by a factor of 20! I had couple of dizzy spells, but no nausea. It was all very straightforward. I left with a full set of clear post-op instructions, took a cab back to my hotel at the end of day and slept ok after a meal.I flew back to the UK overnight the next day. I would definitely recommend an early return home. There was no problem flying. I would not have wanted to fly a few days later when the swelling had started.I’m happy to respond to any questions. I’ll keep you informed of my progress and photos will follow. At the moment, I am delighted I did it and I am yet another fully paid-up member of the UK branch of the Dr Feller fan club. Thanks also to Spex as well as to Bill and others on this marvellous forum.Best wishes all. 12 months pics:_________________

Fantastic Session with Dr. Feller- 10/15/2009.

Hey everyone!
Well, the day came…and I cant tell you how excited, nervous and pumped up I was…I basically showed up a hour and half early LOL..
It was really cold!

Well, showed up and got greeted by Dr. Feller and of course he was great from minute one..

Sat down took some pictures and went over what to expect for the day…
met the staff..I loved the girls, they were sweet, funny and knew exactly how to make you feel comfortable, safe and just kept a pleasant
atmosphere.

So the time came for the shaving…next the shots which were really a breeze…no discomfort at all.
I also like to add that everyone in the room including Dr. Feller were very gentle, friendly and were constantly complimenting what a pleasant patient i was, they were being extra nice cause i have a terrible tendency to move and fidget… AAAAAAALOT, and they were really kind about it..I dont know if it showed but i was a nervous wreck for a while…thats just me…but towards the end the staff were joking and talking like we have worked together for like forever…I was really happy for the whole experience..

I feel like I accomplished a huge goal…I literally cried a bit on my way home cause I couldnt believe I went through with this..It really happened…
after all the worries, after staring and looking in the mirror for years hoping what I was looking at wasnt going to get worst… and which way can i style my hair hide it.
Well, now i just wait…and look forward to the progress and just looking forward to see the changes over the months…have a positive attitude..and just take a huge sigh of relief!

Thanks for reading…thanks to Dr feller and his staff..

and will be posting pics up very soon..

8 Month update after 3500 grafts with Dr Feller - 4/30/2009.

I am now 8 months Post HT. – **UPDATED to 11 mths*

After the first few weeks of checking my hair every 10 mins, I began to realise that it was not the most productive use of my time!
I didn’t keep my HT a secret and so was able to canvas many opinions – such as

1. My wife who said she didn’t really mind either way if I had an HT, to being really amazed by the results and the difference it has made to how I look.

2. My barbers – they have never seen a HT that looked so natural – they have only seen bad UK pluggy HT‘s

3. Several Doctors and surgeons (my wife’s side of the family nearly all in the medical profession) who have given my head an inspection that was similar to “monkey grooming” – all agreed that the naturalness and scar healing were excellent.

4. Friends and family – most admitted to being very sceptical and felt I was pursuing a route based on “desparation” – all now postitively surprised on the outcome todate.

The decision to have a HT has been one of my better ones – I feel a debt of gratitude to Spex for all his help in the early stages and Dr Feller and his team for the results thus far which I really couldn’t be happier with.
Next for me is the crown – I really want to avoid long downtime this time round and will be contacting Dr Feller to discuss the possibility of FUE.

1800 densley packed grafts with Dr Feller - 2/12/2009.

I flew across the pond to see Dr Feller, a journey seemingly trod by many an Englishman. We don’t have any H/T docs of his calibre, so he has been adopted by our people

When i showed up on Monday morning i had not yet had a chance to go over the finer details of what i want. In my head
i’d assumed that he would work on zone 1 and rebuild my hairline, but by the end of the day Dr Feller and his team had
1800 grafts, which enabled him to go right back in to zone 1,2,and 3, which is more than i expected, leaving me pleasantly
surprised. The procedure went well and his team worked away sowing my graphs in to the many tiny slits Dr Feller had made.

Like i had read many times the worst part of the procedure was the injections, some find them worse than others but no big  deal in the scheme of things. All in all the experience was top notce and i look forward to seeing the growth slowly
coming in over the next 8 months.

Final result at 22 months!

Thank you Dr Feller and his team, and not forgetting Spex

UK Repair procedure with Dr Feller - 9/22/2008.

I traveled over to Dr Feller in New York and actually never even saw New York as i stayed local to Dr Fellers in Great Neck which is a very nice quiet place. I arrived at Dr Fellers office at 6.30 am. I was eager as i had been told to get there for 7.45am.

Dr Feller and i went through the possibilities as he saw straight away i had some donor to work with which was an unbelievable relief to hear him say but it was how we could use it that was the problem. He wanted to solely focus on the front with the grafts but i was very adamant i wanted it distributing to help the crown also. We reached an agreement after a long time spent and Dr Feller thought he would be able to get about 1500/1800 grafts which to me was just music to my ears especially after i had been told numerous times i had nothing left to work with by UK clinics. He wanted to see how many grafts he could get exactly before making a definite plan as the numbers were vitally important to the success and positioning of the repair……  click here for the full account

14 Month update after 3500 Grafts with Dr Feller - 8/07/2008.

Hello.

I’m 14 months from 3,500 grafts strip procedure with Dr. Feller and couldn’t be happier. Even better, my girlfriend is happy, which pretty much means I’m going to be happy as well. I have read this board and a few others over the years and must thank everyone for guiding me to the right doctor. I am from the U.K. and did my research very thoroughly and decided to go to Dr. Alan Feller in New York. I started losing my hair several years ago in my mid twenties, but thankfully my curly hair helped to cover it up. After a while even the curls couldn’t hide the baldness. I had receded alot in the front and then the crown started opening up.

When I met Dr. Feller, I was hoping he could do my front in one day, but when he told me he could do the crown at the same time because of my curly hair I asked him to do both…..  click here for the full account

I highly recommend Dr. Feller and his team.

6 Month update after 3000 Grafts with Dr Feller - 7/10/2008.

A seminal moment in my life, for sure, and I feel total confidence in choosing Dr. Feller and his team. Hair loss has plauged me the past several years, truly impacting my identity, while sapping vigor….sure, some may find it to be “just” aesthetics; but, I think many of us know it is something far more reaching.

After virtually two decades of living, the person I saw when I looked in the mirror, and the person I thought to project to others became increasingly fragmented, shattering into an image that I couldn’t understand, want, or beleive to even have; at such a young age, particularly, it has been difficult to find ways to cope when it is such an anomoly.

This has been a first, major step in working w/ Dr. Feller towards my “follicular revitalization”. Forum Member “thanatopsis_awry”

A HAPPY DR FELLER PATIENT... 16 MONTHS... THANKS FELLER MEDICAL!! :) - 04/02/2008.

I had some real ups and downs… due to my newly named ‘Hybrid Head!’ lol… (Dr Fellers name for my rare combined hair textures) but I am now one very happy guy! I am only 5 months post my 2nd Feller HT (which was November ’07).

If anyone here is new to HT‘s and needs confirmation about ‘will this look natural?’ (if carried out by Feller Medical) then I’m am one of the best candidates to confirm this… I had some disgusting ‘work’ carried out by Nobel Hair Clinic and I wasn’t sure I was going to ever get my hair back to a standard I could be happy with.. I am a really fussy person in life.. to my own detriment. Which is why hair loss effected my life so much! 13 years ago…I was a really happy bloke…… read more

Forum member Spursman receives 3200 grafts with Dr Feller - 12/17/2007.

Hello

Haven’t been on this forum for a while but i thought i would post and show you my 16 month update. I’m from the UK and travelled to New York to see Dr Feller

Well what can i say…. i am delighted with the out come and feel very pleased that i went to see highly skilled Dr Feller.

My donor area wasn’t the best and i had to cover a large area. Dr Feller managed to get around 3200 grafts and distributed them in the front third. My growth has been slow, but as they say it’s a marathon not a sprint. In the end i got the results i wanted.

It was my first HT and i did allot of research but at the time i was really nervous but as soon as i meet Dr Feller i knew i had come to the right place. He was so comforting and considerate, he must perform so many HT‘s and it’s like second nature to him but i bet he still makes every one of his patients comfortable. He also keeps you informed of what’s going on during the op which is also good. His technicians are also very friendly and skilled which is assuring, there very cute to ?????*

I can still remember the day itself and i can’t believe it has been 16 months already (time flies) I think the only bit I didn’t enjoy was the first few injections but apart from that it was relaxing.

I am booked in for the start of February for my 2nd HT and I can’t wait to get more work done. I plan to get my crown filled in and thicken everything up a bit more. I know I am in good hands.

If anyone is thinking of going to Dr Feller then he is one of the best there is around. If not thee best. I can’t speak anymore highly of him and his staff and I want to say thank you for giving me some of my hair back as well as added confidence.

I cant wait to go back in Feb.

Forum member Mr T recieves 2500 grafts with Dr Feller - 10/28/2007.

Hi!

After researching for hours, and weeks on end, I came across Spex’s website (I am sure u all know Spex, he’s a legend, complete life saver, The Hair Loss Guru!) From his sources I managed to get 15 months supply of Proscar at a very low price… (in fact the amount I paid for the 15 months supply was what I used to spend on a 4 month supply with The Hunting Clinic)

After meeting up with Spex, and looking at his hair and how natural and undetectable it looks, I wanted a HT… I started researching on various hair loss forums, where I discovered The God of Hair Restoration – Dr Feller!

I am not one for rushing into things, but after seeing his website and many pictures of his patients (in the flesh and in photo), I knew he was the one I just had to go with…
After having a consult with him in January 2007, I was really impressed with his passion and knowledge for hair transplants, that I booked myself in for my very first HT in April 2007 (20th of April 2007, to be exact!).

I had 2,500+ grafts transplanted at the front half of my scalp! (I think it was just over 2,600 grafts…) Dr Feller was happy as my donar hairs were really thick hairs, he was happy, I was happy………  click to read full account

3280 grafts with Dr Feller - 12/13/2006.

Well I did it. Approximately 2 weeks ago I sat in the chair for the second time. My first op was with Dr. Loria back in 2000. Unfortunately I didn’t do much research back then and ended up getting a sub par Micro/mini graft procedure of 1500 grafts. Didnt really see much of a difference and it did nothing for my hairline. I stopped taking Propecia around 3 years ago I have thinned out a little more. Thinking about getting on it again but still on the fence about it due to the side effects I had. Anyhow I will create a weblog but just wanted to post some preliminary pics and get a little feedback. Dr. Feller placed around 3300 in the frontal 1/3 of my scalp. My main goal was to define a hairline and create a little more density in this area as well as behind it toward mid scalp. Dr. Feller and his staff are great. I find it pretty amazing how they do this type of work day in and day out. What a difference this procedure was compared to my previous procedure with Dr. Loria. I had practically no scabbing this time, and the redness went away in just a matter of days. The work seems light years ahead of what I had done in the past. Just wish I had found out about this site sooner. Forum poster “Orion”

Recent FUE patient Experience with Dr Feller - 12/13/2006.

By forum poster “BigT”

I arrived quite early, i talked over what i wanted done with Dr Feller, he was exactly on my wavelength, concerned the line drawn was what i wanted and we altered the plan to get it right. We took some pre-op pics and got started. Buzzed down and Dr Feller numbed the donor. He had difficulty scoring/extracting the FUEs at first because my skin was very hard (due to previous scarring non-HT related) but he got round it and things became easier. It is def hard work lying totally still for long periods with nowhere to put your arms, and def go to the toilet before you start FUE! However the grafts were coming out fine and we reached approx 400. recipient was numbed up, didnt have to buzz it, and Dr Feller did the most important part of the process making the angles for the recipient incisions. The techs then popped the grafts back in and more pics were taken. I got my post-op instructions but as the doc said it is basically common sense.

I would like to thank Dr Feller and all the staff for making my experience as comfy as poss, and also thank Dr Feller for his generosity as i received more grafts than i was charged for originally. Spex has promised to post some pics for me in this thread, so cheers and over to you mate! I would also like to apologise if i have rambled on for too long! Will answer any Qs as best i can. Cheers and good luck……..  read full account here

Superb results with Dr Feller -12/3/2005

Hello everyone!

As I wrote several months ago, my 2000+ graphs at Dr. Feller were implanted successfuly to the front of the scalp. At 4 months i have already had incredible results and wanted to share them.

Now the front of the hair line is covered and this is only the 4th month: Dr. Feller is a wonderful doctor who knows not only the science of transplanting hair, but how to work as an artist. I especially would like to thank Anna and the rest of the ladies for their wonderful work! If you are in NYC area and want a top notch doctor who will really give you excellent results, contact Dr. Feller.  forum member “joelk111″

The Ultimate Accolade for Dr. Feller - 12/3/2005.

Over the years, my barber has been skeptical and unencouraging about hair transplants. He never saw a hair transplant he liked. I had a transplant done by Dr. Feller in late January. It’s come in beautifully (in my biased opinion). I went for a haircut last Saturday. My skeptical barber was blown away. Said it was the best transplant he had ever seen and asked for Dr. Feller’s name and address. This is the ultimate accolade. forum member “John. L”
